Will you two stop that racket?! Amazing pictures of parenting, lion-style

Sorry dad! The mischievous cubs are brought to heel by M'wasi

He may be the regal king of the jungle - but to these playful cubs this magnificent creature is just plain old dad.

And it seems M'wasi the lion takes a no-nonsense approach to parenting.

Because as the playful cubs' wrestling starts to get on his nerves, he tells them to pipe down and the pair are immediately cowed.

The two three-month-old lions, from a litter of three, are yet to be named as the Bronx Zoo in New York are giving the public the chance to vote for what the trio should be called.

The cubs are resident there with their dad and mum, Sukari, and these three rascals are their second litter.

They are also parents to two-year-old Moxie, who was the first lion cub born at the zoo in 31 years.

The Wildlife Conservation Society introduced the spirited triplets on Friday at its African Plains habitat.

Wild lions live in sub-Saharan Africa and this area of the zoo aims to be a naturalistic representation of the savanna.

Evidently a spirited litter, the triplet's favourite activities include wrestling with one another and nipping at their dad's tail.

And according to one zoo-keeper: 'The male is a mama's boy'.
