Nice to meet you: Geri Halliwell feeds a coati on her VIP visit to London Zoo

Geri Halliwell risked her fingers yesterday when she got up close with a coati at London Zoo yesterday.

But the singer hadn't jumped the fence at the enclosure - she was given special permission to meet the Latin American raccoon-like mammal, also known as a Brazilian aardvark, with her daughter Bluebell Madonna.

Halliwell and her three-year-old were joined by her Spanish mother Ana for a special VIP trip to the zoo, where they were given a tour of the new enclosures by a zoo keeper

Clearly prepared for walking around the mucky cages, Halliwell sensibly wore a pair of cowboy boots, as well as a trendy nautical T-shirt and denim dungarees.

Meanwhile, the singer has revealed she is planning to return to the studio to record her fourth solo album.

The former Ginger Spice enjoyed success with her first album Schizophonic, which spurned four hit singles, and sold over 3million copies.

However, her second album Scream If You Wanna Go Faster was less successful with 1million sales, with her third disc Passion only shifting 500,000 copies and reaching a dismal 41 in the album charts.

Meanwhile, Halliwell has spoken publicly about her boyfriend Henry Beckwith for the first time, after they marked their one year anniversary together last month.

She said: 'I met him on a beach. I was quite instantly attracted to him. He just instantly got my attention. He walked on the beach and I went, "Ooh!"
'He's my longest boyfriend I've had for the last 16 years. We've been together almost a year. When I was in the Spice Girls and doing my solo career, there just wasn't any time. I just wasn't present in my relationships.'

The former Spice Girl and aristocrat started dating in March 2009, just weeks after she ended her brief engagement with Italian millionaire Fabrizio Politi.
