Super-mum: Two year old Dalmation Pebbles with her sizeable brood

It's not quite 101 Dalmatians. But when two-year-old Pebbles gave birth to 15 tiny puppies, she and her owners found their paws were more than full.
The litter is more than twice the average size for a Dalmatian, and the trials of motherhood initially took their toll.
Owner Kay Sullivan, 45, said: 'We had to care for [the puppies] for two days because Pebbles was not very well.

'She was very weak because they had taken all the energy out of her.
'We had to care for them and feed them for the first couple of days. One puppy in particular we thought wasn't going to make it.'

Mrs Sullivan, who lives with her husband Neil and their four children near Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, said the large litter had drawn parallels with the much-loved children's story by Dodie Smith.
'It's the same number of puppies which they start with in the film, before they get stolen,' she noted.
