Heartless: Puppy Splash was abandoned and left to fend for herself in last week's rain
Adorable and only 12 weeks old, this puppy was more in need than most of a loving owner.
But the Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross, with a skin condition which has left her almost completely bald, is looking for a new home after being cruelly abandoned in last week’s downpours.
The puppy, nicknamed Splash by staff at the Dogs Trust, was found wandering the streets in pouring rain by a concerned passer-by.
A warden took the nearly bald 12-week-old pup to the Dogs Trust centre in Leeds, West Yorkshire, where staff are now tending to the chronic skin condition, known as demodectic mange.

Amanda Sands, manager of Dogs Trust Leeds, said: 'Splash endured an awful day when she was found last Friday.
'The rain had been relentless and spending all day out in it is unimaginable, especially when you consider she’s got no fur due to her condition.
'She also would have been terrified by all the water and noise.'
She said Splash would have picked up the infection from her mother and it was clear she had not been given any treatment.
Ordeal: Despite her ordeal, Splash is already starting to improve - and is looking for a new owner
'She didn’t have a collar and her condition has been left to get sore and infected. She will be really uncomfortable but in herself, she is lovely and a bit cheeky.
'It will take a few months for her to recover and for her fur to grow back.'
Splash is already starting to improve - and she’s looking for a new owner who will have to liaise with the Trust’s vet before taking her on.
The puppy, who is described as very loving and affectionate, will need to be taken back to the rehoming centre regularly to continue her treatment. To help call 0113 281 4920.
